yes, if you have a shield, you shouldn't teleport until after it goes away because you will lose your shield and will not have a shield while your teleport march is going over to the teleport area, AND also make sure you CAN actually hit the monsters that are near the hive that your clanmates formed or you'll be having to do a 10 minute march to get to monsters and resource nodes that you Can hit.

If you tap on an empty plot of land (no monsters or resource nodes or cities) you'll be given the option to teleport. When you go to teleport, you'll see how many you have left. Make sure you're sure before teleporting. If you don't have any teleports, you can buy one for 5k gems, or you can wait until you win a free one in a random chest...or if you really can't wait, you can buy teleports for cash in some bundles in the store.
