My clan has formed alliances with a few other clans. It would be great if we could officiate this somehow, making it so that we can share resources and defend one another against attacks.
Nope, this can easily be abused to create super clans. We have had this discussion numerous times over the last two years and it aways comes back to creating an inbalance in the game. The only thing I would support is turning the march lines of friendly/ allied clans from red to green.
Sometimes super clans are needed when you have an stronger clan basically bullying weaker clans on a daily basis. That kinda routine hinders weaker clans growth, also resulting in an unbalance. This clan's (who shall remain nameless) philosophy is to be every ones enemy. And a "super clan" as you call it would be just the thing to teach them a lesson. Teach them to stop preying on weaker, smaller clans. Smaller clans need help sometimes too.
Since you are pretty new to this game, I have to imagine that you don't know a lot about the history of this game. I'm going to use r18 as an example since that is where I started. In r18, the realm was ran by an alliance of 10 clans. Those 10 clans had the majority of the top players in them. Those 10 clans would spend their day going after anyone outside of their alliance. If those 10 clans were able to support each other in the way you are describing, how would that benefit the game? You are assuming that only the smaller clans would benefit from something like that. In reality that would be massively abused by the top clans since in most realms, the top clans are normally allied.
I've seen this be a huge burden in other games too. In EVE Online a mega alliance was made and it took something like 8 years for enough of the rest of the players to finally team up and end them. The funny thing g, that mega alliance started out pretty small and had toppled the last huge alliance. Large alliances hurt a lot of things. Basically all the good that can come from them, the same amount of bad is possible.
