Hi all, I searched around the forum about this topic, because I heard alot of complaint in-game about this matter. Anyway, I couldn’t find it, so I post a new one. Should it a good idea to give a hired ally a cooldown period? It is very frustrating that the moment you hire a new ally, it’s already sold to a new owner. Furthermore, it is impossible to start a well timed attack in which you can rely on your bonus stats from allies. Let me know what you think! Cheers.
I would hate cooldowns.... I enjoy the fight for allies, where I hire one, they hire, I rehire and over and over, then I get gold from it... it would take forever to do this if there was a cool down.... my suggestion is if you are trying to earn gold, buy from ally market... You’ll notice that between 100-1 mil gold allies are sold and flipped very frequently. If you want a good boost that will last maybe a few minutes, buy allies that are 2mil+ If you really want a good ally, search for them manually. That way, they’ll less likely be on the market for someone to hire.
Thanks for your reply! The thing is, I’m 1 mil points myself right now. So what you’re actually saying is that hiring is just not the thing to do for me at this point in the game? (Besides from trying to earn money of it)
Well, I am only 60 million might... I am not saying that hiring allies is not the thing to do when you are small, it provides a good bonus against monsters that you have just researched to hit or clearing your village. I’m merely saying that allies are one of the most strategic aspects of this game. I use them mostly to flip and gain gold (for research) and hopefully keep valuable allies that provide me with good bonuses. The point I’m trying to make is this: allies will be bought away. Don’t rely on them, there are many stradegies like buying allies that you own and attacking you, to lessen your defense and destroy your ally gold. Adding a cool down would just be a nuisance.
I see what you mean, but then we just have a different opinion on what we like, which is fine btw. I still think allies should be there to give you bonuses and something to rely on. Hiring allies as a money machine just sound annoying to me and should be done in another way. Anyway, this is exactly the discussion about allies. Hopefully, people will read this post and vote!
I have a low level alt in a realm...(yeah...I know...vague) and I actually hire allies who are even more expensive than the actual alt. I started out with 100 gold allies, then when those sold, I'd buy more, and I'd make gold from hitting monsters etc. soon, I was able to buy 1k gold allies. And my protected caps went up too. I'd buy multiple allies and over night they'd sell...or sometimes right away, and I'd be able to buy 1 bigger ally with the gold from all of those combined. Later, I was buying 1M gold allies and I wasn't even worth that much. (and my protected cap was only like 300k, but I'd have the allies I wanted to buy already picked out so I could just quickly buy them. ) I moved up to buying 3m and 4m allies from the gold from the allies who sold, and then some mornings, I'd wake up with 20M gold uncollected because of allies that sold. That allowed me to buy even better allies on that low level alt. It takes a bit of time, but just keep buying allies and you'll see your gold add up, especially if it's in a range that sells super fast (like good allies below 6M) You kinda also need to know when to stop hiring that same ally back. I'm totally guilty of putting on a shield when I am engaged in a long ally rehiring...I mean...it makes it way easier to continue if you don't have to worry about someone looting your gold. Some people opt to sleep with a shield. I only do the low level ally buys on the alt since it needs to make some gold fast. My main doesn't get many ally buys since I usually buy them a little over priced to hold on to them. That's kinda the trick...If you want to hold on to a good ally, you're going to have to make it so that other people won't want to buy it or find one no one is really finding. Heck, there are some allies who don't even show up on the search because the ally page only goes so far before it stops loading more allies. You're going to have to spend some good time searching for allies if you want a good one for a good price, and you'll have to probably fight someone else to keep it. Don't forget...when you hire an ally, most of the time, you hire one from someone else. It wouldn't be fair if you can hire the ally they had, but they don't get a chance to hire it back. You'd be mad if you had a really good ally, and you were hitting someone, or monsters and someone hired it from you, and you couldn't hire it back, and failed the attack because you had to wait for a cooldown...and the search for another ally in that price range with good stats would take too long. The way you'll keep your ally is to spend more for the ally than the other guy is willing to spend. Whoever is willing so spend the most gets the prize. (The ally)
