Cheaper Shield

    I’m still on my beginner shield and enjoying the PVE elements of the game but I’m not looking forward to my shield running out and the PvP attacks beginning! In games like this I’ve played before I’ve utilised shields a lot so I don’t come home from a day out to find my base decimated. So far I can only see the option to buy shields for gems and they’re really expensive. I’d love it if they were cheaper or if shields were attainable in another way (daily free chests, clan gifts/pints etc)

    They are attainable in daily quests.

    1. Shields are obtainable through the daily dragon quests

    2. People usually won't attempt to attack you unless you go over cap on resources

    3. You already can earn how many jewels from destroying monsters, events, quests, etc.

    1. I didn’t know this til the other reply, happy to hear it! Had a look and those 8 hour shields will definitely help, just have to make sure I do the quest !

    2. That’s good to hear, I’ll try to keep at a reasonable level. I’ve played games like this where the big players would just destroy everyone anyway and it was so tedious having to build your troops back up so often

    3. I’ve been playing a few days and haven’t got 10k yet even with the amount of quests you complete at the start which is what I’d need for a 24hr shield... but maybe you get more as you progress and can attack better monsters?

    All the 24 hour shields I've gotten were because of a free one in one of my gift boxes. It is possible to get big shields for free.
    Early on, you may not want to go over your hospital cap if you feel the need to have a 24h shield. Militia and guards aren't going to be the final troop types you have anyway, so don't troop bloat. It's bad and you'll feel really bad when someone zeroes you. Focus on Research to make the troops that you do have stronger.
    1 people can only steal your resources if you are over your resource cap.
    2 people can only kill your troops if you are over Hospital Cap or They rally you, or you have Battle Fury/Realm Wrath.
    3 If you ARE over hospital cap, you'll want to research your City Defender March Caps so you can send more of your excess troops to hide in a clan mate's shield. Ask that clan mate how long their shield is going to last, and if it will last you through the night, it's a safe place to store your troops. If they re-shield while you're sleeping, you'd have to worry about them being returned to you.
