The relaunch of Idols is upon us! The new system features more idols, greater utility, and more tactical decisions for players. Idols will also be branching out past raids, and affect PvP as well now. Below are detailed descriptions of the changes to the Idols system.

    Tactics:

Since the beginning of Heckfire, players have been used to a term called “Attack Power”. This term actually encompassed a few different variables, so it was hard for players to determine how much of a difference a certain upgrade would make. We have now broken this term out into three terms, “Tactics”, “Tactics Bonus”, and “Tactics Tweak”. The bonus is multiplied by Tactics, and the Tweaks are added at the end.

    Rank:

The rank feature, previously known as Class, was a permanent upgrade that gated what level a player could bring their idol to. It took idol materials and time to upgrade. The changes to rank are fairly minor. Rank will still gate the progress of levels, but will also give players a passive bonus. The passive bonus will increase in strength with each rank. Also, some passive bonuses may be unlocked at a higher rank.

    Aura:

The Aura feature, previously known as Level, is being significantly overhauled. The old Level feature increased your active bonus with each level, and was gated by Class. The new Aura feature will also increase your active bonus with each Aura Level, and is still gated by Rank, but after activation, the Idol’s Aura will reset back to level 1. This allows for much more powerful bonuses to be put on idols, and also gives players more freedom with how they use idols. Will you activate weaker abilities more frequently, or save up for a powerful burst to destroy your enemies?

    Changes to Mana:

Before the update, players could collect Grassland, Badlands, Swamp, and Boss Mana. It came in the form of tokens, which could be used to add the mana to your existing pool. All of those types of mana will be removed, and instead mana will be done by rarity. The mana each idol uses is based on the idol’s rarity. There is now Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic Mana. Furthermore, the token system has been removed, and instead, players will only receive mana in a liquid form. Since mana can’t be stolen by players, and can’t regenerate, this just seemed like a step to reduce the number of clicks.

    Store:

There is now an idols section in the store. Currently, there is a chest with a mixture of idol materials and a variety of mana for sale. The chest starts each day at 50% off for the first chest, and the remaining chests are at regular price. The mana for sale will change more frequently and costs a variety of different idol upgrade materials. This will ensure that all idol upgrade materials continue to have value.

    Idolith:

While the primary function of the Idolith remains the same, the content has been extended, and includes a 3rd idol slot unlock! It is important to note that the “Idol Mana Cost Reduction” ability from the Idolith applies purely to the activation of the idol, and not the mana cost to charge the Aura.

    Competition:

An hourly competition will be added into the rotation. It will be scored by crafting, ranking up, leveling the aura, or activating idols. The tiers are not too hard to reach, so you could farm enough common and uncommon mana to upgrade or activate your idols and score enough points to frequently hit 3 stars.
