No event quests for last 24 hours

I paid for the sorriee token and for the first 48 hours I could earn anything due to my level. Finally started to earn and ran a few spirits shy of next level. Log in together the last spirits I need only to see no event quest for last 24 hours. Only way to get spirits is to buy keys for chest? This seems like a RIP off and a Google pay dispute about to happen.

the last 24 hours are there purely for you to collect the rewards from the previous 24 hour event...
