This is your dragon. This dragon's name is Ruby. Isn't Ruby sweet? Ruby needs XP to get to higher levels. XP is good for your dragons. You can get XP for your dragons by feeding them, by letting them fight monsters and by gathering with them on nodes. (E.g. Ore gold and food nodes) When you fight monsters (titans included) you can win food from these monsters to feed your dragons.

You can also get relics to fall as loot from these monsters. Dragons like dressing up. These relics help make your dragons stronger. If you get all of the relics, you can even evolve your dragons so they can give your army an even bigger army bonus.

And if you have some small ones, you can even craft some to make a higher level one.

Shards give an even bigger army bonus than relics. Shards can help to rank up your dragons. You can get these by competing in events or by buying them.

    Here's your dragon Spire (below).

Upgrading this increases your dragon XP bonus AND sometimes increases the amount of dragons you can have marching with you.

Here's your dragon Altar (Below). Build as many of these as you can and upgrade all of them. This gives you a bigger dragon XP bonus as well, which comes in handy when doing anything that earns you XP, like feeding your dragons, attacking monsters, or gathering at nodes.

Here's a look at the dragons section in your profile. You may have different numbers depending on how many dragon suggests you have built, and what level they are, and how much biome specific research you have done.

Let me ask you a question...
    Who would you rather be?

Player 1 getting 1,240 XP for 1 Jumbo Grasslands Chow:

Player 2 getting 1,034 XP for 1 Jumbo Grasslands Chow:

Or Player 3 getting 476 XP for 1 Jumbo Grasslands Chow?

This poor guy getting next to nothing (Player 3) did no research, and hasn't really built many dragon altars, so the dragon XP bonus is only 19%
    [IMG]

Player 2 also did no research, but what's different about them is that this player has built 5 dragon altars all at levels 13 & 14. That's why their dragon XP bonus is 158.5%, and they're getting 1,034 XP per Jumbo Grasslands Chow instead of only 476 XP.

Player 1, however did biome specific dragon XP research up to levels 8 & 9 out of 20 (Imagine all of the XP player 1 could get with a maxed biome specific research)[IMG]

And also built 6 dragon altars which are all at level 15. This makes the dragon XP bonus 180% and the grasslands specific XP bonus 30%, meaning that they get 1,240 XP per Jumbo Grasslands Chow.

Personally, I still haven't fed my dragons, because my bonus isn't at 250% yet...and even when it reaches the (recommended by Hus) 250%, I'll always feel like I could have gotten that little bit more in XP for my dragons had I waited just a little bit longer. So, the choice is yours on how much XP you'd like to have for your dragons when feeding themโ€ฆ but I'd highly recommend waiting until you at least reach the Hus (GetClapped) recommended 250% dragon XP bonus before feeding your dragons. It really makes a HUGE difference as you could see by the difference between players 1 and 4.

So...don't feed your dragons until you're happy with how much XP you're getting from the food you're feeding them. The longer you hold out, the better bang for your buck you'll get with each bit of Chow. It won't expire, so save it!

Haha, I had most of them made up already. They needed to be posted and since no one else did it, I figured I may as well.
It helps those who don't know the mechanics of the game, especially since a lot of us are beta players and have a lot of knowledge to share. I'm sure there will be more users posting more guides soon Bacon, I'm waiting for you!!! Lol, but until then, I guess you'll have to make due with mine. ;)

It's said so much in clan chat/realm chat/discord, it's like it has become a fact now.

Thanks! I made a bunch back in beta. I hadn't shared them all at first since there were so many...and I had SO many links. But since the dragon section was empty (at the time), I decided to share this one too.

Does the XP bonus apply only to feeding your dragon? Or does it also effect the evolve process?
    Thanks for the guide btw

Anything that you do that earns your dragon XP will be influenced by upgrading your Dragon Altars and Dragon Spire and by the Dragon XP Boost research that you do. Feeding them earns them XP. So does attacking monsters and titans and sending them to gather on nodes. So they'll earn more xp per activity with a higher bonus.

When you evolve them (get relics have your dragons reach a certain level, equip them and hit the evolve button) you gain might and an attack bonus by hitting the evolve button them, but not XP.

XP is for Leveling Up your dragons. (Attack monsters, Collect resources with the dragons, Feed the dragons for XP)
Relics are for Tiering Up your dragons. (attack monsters for relics and Evolve them when they reach the required level)
Dragon Shards are for Ranking Up your dragons. (buy Shards or win them in events like Daily Dragon Quests)

Is there any way to unlock legendary dragons without spending real money?

No. First one is $5, second is $20, and third is $50. (All before taxes.) Be prepared to throw money at the game if you want them.
