    FAQs

    1. If you are on Google Play (Android), download the latest update from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ata.kraken.heckfire

    2. If you are on iOS, download the latest from the app store.

After updating, you will still be able to access the existing realm.

When you start playing this game, you will be greeted by a tutorial with a Dragon egg, and a few buildings that need to be repaired.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Monsters are taking over your city!!! Gather your troops to start slaying some monsters…

To start battling monsters in your city, you will need to get dragons!!!

Many of your buildings have been demolished and need repairing.

Once you have repaired enough buildings to get your Dragon Spire, you may see that there is an egg that needs to be hatched! That’s where you’ll get your FIRST dragon! Enter the dragon spire to meet your new hatchling!

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Once you have a Dragon, you can start kicking those mean old monsters out of your city!

Using your dragons and the troops you have, find the monsters in your city and tap on it to battle. Clear more lands and you may find more dragon eggs being held hostage by those mean old monsters!!!
Look in your city for those mean old monsters who are holding Dragon Eggs hostage!!! Slay those monsters to save those eggs!!! Who knows, they may hatch into some useful dragons!!! One thing is for sure, they'll be so grateful for the rescue, that they'll help you fight your battles!!!
You need at least 1 dragon and your troops to battle. (more dragons per march can be unlocked by upgrading your Dragon Spire (2nd dragon in the march unlocks at Level 10)

When attacking, if your power bar is green, you will win the battle, if it’s orange or red, you need more power to take on those monsters!

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Once you have won a battle, clear them out of your city for a fee (you have to pay your cleaners to clear all those corpses!)

Once the land is cleared, you can start building more buildings.

Clear lands to get more Dragons! (Subject to change)

Example of what this chart means:

Land ID is the land at which they get unlocked.

Ruby is a grasslands monster attacker and a grasslands resource gatherer. If you attack grasslands monsters, like goblins or grassland titans, ruby has a bonus. If you gather on grasslands with ruby, ruby will collect faster..

Yyrrrkk is a badlands city attacker and a badlands city defender. If you attack someone who is in the badlands with Yyrrrkk, he will give the army an even bigger boost. If you have your castle in the badlands with him as a defender, he will give you a better defense boost.

All building upgrades increase your might.

    Core Buildings:

WALL - upgrade your wall for a higher City Defenders Capacity

Town Hall (TH) - Increases the protection cap of Gold, Food, Ore and the Garrison

    Hospital - Increases hospital capacity

Waritorium - Allows you to hire Allies! Increases Ally Slots, Rally leader March/Reinforcement cap & City Reinforcement cap

Clan Tavern - Initially, allows you to join a Clan! Afterwards, increases Clan Chest Slots & Resource Gift Caps, Decreases Gift Tax

University - Do all of your research here! You need research to get better and stronger

Dragon Spire - Gives your march speed a bonus and adds dragons per march

Training Pit - Train more troops at once. Research to unlock more troop types.

    Things you can build:

    [IMG][IMG]

Farm – Grow food to train troops. It increases your food production speed and capacity

Quarry – Mining for ore – it increases your ore production speed and capacity

Dragon Alter – Increases your Dragon XP Bonus

Barracks – Increases the speed of troop training

    Study - Increases research speed

Ward - Increases Hospital Capacity and healing speed

Treasury - Increases Clan chest slots, Ally resource bonuses, Food & Ore Protection Cap

Embassy - Increases ally slots (you can have more allies) Rally Leader March Capacity

You need a Clan Tavern to join a clan - Can be fixed at TH3

Fix your hospital to increase your hospital capacity - Can be fixed at TH4

You need a Waritorium to hire allies - Can be fixed at TH5

You need your Training pit to train troops - fix your quarry first to be able to fix your training pit - upgrade this to be able to train more troops at once

If you don’t know what to build next, tap the clock at the bottom left and the upgrade eye. It’ll bring you to the next upgrade that you’re able to do.

    Troop types so far:

    Tier 1: Start (Militia)
    Tier 2: TH 10 (Guards)
    Tier 3: TH 18 (Knights)
    Tier 4: TH 24 (Trophy Huntress/Royal Knight/Wild Pugskateer)

Garrisons: You have a garrison cap that is 5K and can increase this with research. If you get attacked, your troops will first go into the garrison before going anywhere else up to 5K (or the garrison cap you researched to). If you have less troops than your garrison cap, your troops will all be able to fit in the garrison. That means that they will not get injured and they will not die!
IF you have more troops than your garrison cap, they will start to make use of the Hospital Capacity. Here, your troops can get injured under normal circumstances with no realm wrath (battle fury) active, or a successful rally. If the defender has realm wrath (Battle Fury) 1% and/or the attacker beats you in a rally 1% kills, you will have troop lethality and you may have 1-2 percent of the troops who were lost die instead of all just being injured (That's 1% if you lose a defense when realm wrath/battle fury is active on your city and 1% if they win a rally against you...so if both circumstances are met, that's 2%). Once your hospital capacity is filled, your troops will also die. (That means you have already filled your garrison AND your hospital capacity - you didn’t heal your troops, so they’re in the hospital taking up beds needed to take care of troops, so the rest who got attacked and injured got left outside to die...so those who would have been just injured died instead)

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    For example, let’s PRETEND that
    Your Garrison Cap is 5k

    Your Hospital cap is 20k

If you have 5K troops or less, all of your troops will be safe no matter what, and you can continue to use them as needed even after being attacked.

If you have 25k troops or less (but higher than 5K) if nothing happens having to do with lethality (realm wrath/battle fury active and you lose the def, or a successful rally where you lose the def), 5k will go into garrison and be safe, and 20k will go into the hospital as injured troops who need healing before they can be used again. (if the above conditions were met, some of your troops may be killed instead of just injured depending on the circumstances (they won a rally or won an attack against you when you had realm wrath/battle fury)

IF you have higher than 25k troops, you have exceeded your Garrison cap AND your hospital cap, so those above 25k will die after your hospital has been filled.

NOTE that this is an EXAMPLE pretending that your Garrison cap is 5K and that your Hospital cap is 20K. These are NOT real numbers.

You can go out into the realm once you reach TH3 by tapping the globe at the bottom right.

You can find other cities, realm monsters (Goblins in Grasslands, Skeletons in Badlands and Treants in Swamps) Titans (gem nodes if a titan was defeated) and resource nodes (gold, food, ore) out in the realm.

    ATA's silent changes strike again...
I have to see if this info on Leeches is still
    accurate...

You get leeches who will heal some of your troops if you lose a defense.

This is what it looks like when you’re upgrading your hospital.

Take a look at this part of the image (cropped below)

Leeches are what are used to heal your troops for free. Leeches in quantity work in relation to the troop strength on a 1:1 ratio. So they can heal more weaker troops than stronger troops.

Upgrade your hospital to get a higher Healing Leeches cap (which is the total amount of free healing you get)

Right now (for now) it takes 8 hours to regenerate leeches. They regenerate in batches. Every 8 hours, you get a batch of them.

The Healing Leeches Accumulation rate is how many of those leeches you get in each batch.

GOLD and Allies. (Collecting Uncollected Gold)

This is how it was explained to me as how it should work.

Here's a link to calculate your ally gold that's lost. Calculate Ally Gold Loss <==Link

If the gold you have in your city is Less than the Protected Gold Cap, when someone attacks you and wins, they will not steal your gold. If the gold in your city is Above your Protected gold cap, you will lose as much gold as they can carry.
What if you have gold in your city that’s under the protected gold cap AND someone hires your ally then someone attacks you and wins?

If someone hired an ally from you then attacks you before you can collect it, they will destroy that gold that was UNCOLLECTED (no more than 10% of that uncollected gold per hit). They will only destroy what they can carry (No more than 10% of that uncollected gold per hit). It doesn't matter if you would have been below your protection capacity had you collected it. You need to collect your gold to keep it safe (as long as what you collect is under your protected gold cap). That protected capacity only protects the gold that's IN YOUR CITY, not gold you haven't collected.

    1. If you were already over the Gold Protected cap in the gold you had out in your city, first they’ll loot the gold that was over the capacity, THEN they’ll destroy ally uncollected gold. BUT it is limited to how much gold they can carry with those troops that they sent, and to no more than 10% of that uncollected ally gold per hit.

These numbers are all speculation, not proven! But it’s the general idea… For all of these examples, let’s pretend that

    1. Your Protected Gold Capacity is 100k, and
    2. The attacker’s troops have a carry capacity of 20k

    Ally Gold Loss EXAMPLE 1:

Your protected gold capacity is 100k and you have 90k gold in your city that’s not in allies, and you have 150k gold uncollected from a recent ally purchase/strip, but the troops that were sent to attack you can only carry 20K gold. In the gold that they can carry, they’ll first go for the gold that is over the cap to try to loot it. Since you have no gold over the capacity to loot, they’ll next go for the gold that’s uncollected. They hit you 5 times.

Since 150k gold is uncollected, in the first hit, 10% of that uncollected 150K worth of ally gold is unsafe, but the troops can only carry 20k gold.

Hit 1: 10% of 150k=15k possibly destroyed in that attack. Carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 15k gold destroyed. Left with 135k gold uncollected.

Hit 2: 10% of 135k=13.5k can be destroyed. Troop carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 13.5k gold destroyed. Left with 121.5k ally gold uncollected.

Hit 3: 10% of 121.5k=12.15k can be destroyed. Troop carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 12.15k gold destroyed. Left with 109.35k ally gold uncollected.

Hit 4: 10% of 109.35k=10.935k can be destroyed. Troop carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 10.935k gold destroyed. Left with 98,415 ally gold uncollected.

Hit 5: 10% of 98,415=9,841.5 (round up) can be destroyed. Troop carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 9,842 gold destroyed. Left with 88,573 ally gold uncollected.

    Ally Gold Loss EXAMPLE 2:

Let’s pretend you’re already OVER the gold protected cap. Your protected gold cap is 100k again for this example. You have 110k gold in your city that’s not in allies, and you have 150k gold uncollected from a recent ally purchase (hired away from you), but the troops that were sent to attack you can only carry 20K gold. They attack you 5 times.

Hit 1: 10% of 150k=15k possibly destroyed in that attack. Carry cap = 20k
10k gold stolen. 10k gold destroyed. Left with 140k ally gold uncollected.

Hit 2: 10% of 140k=14k possibly destroyed in that attack. Carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 14k gold destroyed. Left with 126k ally gold uncollected

Hit 3: 10% of 126k=12.6k possibly destroyed in that attack. Carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 12.6k gold destroyed. Left with 113.4k ally gold uncollected.

Hit 4: 10% of 113.4k=11.34k possibly destroyed in that attack. Carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 11.34k gold destroyed. Left with 102,060 ally gold uncollected.

Hit 5: 10% of 102,060=10,206 possibly destroyed in that attack. Carry cap = 20k
No gold stolen. 10,206 gold destroyed. Left with 91,854k ally gold uncollected.

    Ally Gold Loss EXAMPLE 3:

Let's pretend you're over cap by more than their carry capacity AND you have uncollected ally gold. Your gold protected cap is still 100k, you have 150k gold on hand, and 75k uncollected ally gold from a recent ally hire (hired away from you). So that means you're over your protected gold capacity by 50k gold. Their carry capacity is still 20k. They hit you 5 times.

You’re over your protected gold cap, so you will first get gold stolen before destroyed.
Hit 1: Possible gold that can be stolen 50k. Uncollected ally gold 75k. Carry cap 20k
20k gold stolen. No gold destroyed. Left with 30k gold over protected gold cap & 75k ally gold uncollected.

Hit 2: Possible gold that can be stolen 30k. Uncollected ally gold 75k. Carry cap 20k
20k gold stolen. No gold destroyed. Left with 10k gold over protected gold cap & 75k ally gold uncollected.

Hit 3: Possible gold that can be stolen 10k. Uncollected ally gold 75k (10%=7.5k). Carry cap 20k
10k gold stolen. 7.5k gold destroyed. Left with 67.5k ally gold uncollected.

Hit 4: Uncollected ally gold 67.5k (10%=6,750) Carry cap 20k
No gold stolen. 6,750 gold destroyed. Left with 60,750 ally gold uncollected.

Hit 5: Uncollected ally gold 60,750 (10%=6,075) Carry cap 20k
No gold stolen. 10.4k gold destroyed. Left with 54,675 ally gold uncollected.

Here's a link to calculate your ally gold that's lost. Calculate Ally Gold Loss <==Link

    City Defenders/Defensive Reinforcements

Attacker needs to fill your hospital to kill your troops.
If you have realm wrath and lose a defense, 1% of your losses will be killed even if your hospital isn't full.
If a clan wins a rally against you, 1% of your losses will be killed even if your hospital isn't full.

    Attack/Rally Marches/Node Attacker

If you lose with less than or equal to 0.01% power, you suffer 100% kills

If you lose, you suffer 40% kills
If you win, you suffer 20% kills

    Gathering at Resource Nodes

If you win, you suffer 0% kills
If you lose, you suffer 20% kills

Many people have different play styles. Some want to be PvP heavy and prefer attacking and rallying rather than defending and hiding. Others prefer the PvE aspect of the game.

    Building:
If you're more PvP oriented, you'll either want to be more of a defender or more an attacker.
Your Hospital and wards really come in handy here. These increase the capacity of your hospital. (More hospital beds for more troops to survive)

Having your embassies built and upgraded allow for more ally slots (More allies = More land type bonuses like army strength and additional resources), and a higher Rally leader march cap. This means you can start a rally and have more people join your rally than someone without as many embassies (pretending your research is the same)

Upgrade the dragon spire. This is where you get more dragons per march.

The dragon altars are great for making your dragons stronger faster (greater details in my "How To Train Your Dragon" guide. This is good for PvP and PvE oriented people. Stronger dragons = a stronger attack.

The barracks and training pits are useful for those who want to train troops faster. Upgrading your training pit allows you to train more troops at once. Building and upgrading barracks speeds up training time (there's research for this too -training textbooks in City growth, training speed boosts in army strength) One downfall in this is troop bloat, especially seen when players quickly train troops without doing research. Many weak troops is not as good as less strong troops. You'll see a difference in army strength and in how many survive when you start researching.

No matter what you do, having studies built and upgraded really helps cut down research time. You could shave days off of research times.

    Research:
No matter what your focus is, you'll want to research Dragon March Cap, which can be found in all trees of research.
Concurrent marches. You want to be able to send more marches at a time.

If you are more PvP oriented, you'll want to focus on
Scout level (higher scouts can get info on more people, while those lower than you can't get any info on you)
Anything that speeds up troop training speed (City growth troop training textbooks, army strength Troop Type Training Speed Boost)
Troop Type Toughness Bonus (less likely to get hurt)
Troop Type Strength Bonus (stronger attacks)

City defender march cap -army strength tree (can reinforce with more troops per march...or hide more per march in a shielded clan mate)
Rally reinforcement cap -army strength- (can join rallies worth more troops)

When you get to tiers 3 & 4, you get healing speed boosts

At the bottom of the City Growth section are more hospital caps, garrison caps and city defenders caps (more people can defend you) and some more survivability and lethality boosts.

In the biome specific research at the bottom, you'll find some research that are great for your dragons. The Dragon XP Boost is great, you'll also like the biome specific monster attack bonus and biome specific player attack and defender bonus. (You will want to be on the biome you're strongest in)

There are even biome specific ally bonuses you can research.

If you prefer to go the PvE route, you'll like the monster hunting section and the resource gathering section.
As well as the biome specific research. You'll find sections that are monster attack specific, or that can be used to speed up gathering.

Dragon March Cap is always useful. As I said before, it's found in all trees of research.

No matter what you do, having free speed ups and the construction hammer will help speed up times. If you really want to cut down your corpse clear time, you can research that too from the City Growth section.

You may want to take some time to figure out your desired play style and research and build according to that.

I don't recommend upgrading your town hall until all of your buildings are at the same level as your town hall. Even better if you are able to do all the research you can do at your town hall level before upgrading. It's not always feasible though, but worth trying.

I made this guide with help from Rude (with her Ally gold calculations) and many others who helped me get data in some unlock orders. The last dragons still need verification on when exactly they unlock.
    I hope this is useful.
I edited this section to add some more info.

I can't wait to learn how to resize images on here, lol.

Either or, the 200% is mentioned by many becuase you want to hold off feeding your dragons as long as possible. This maximizes the XP from each piece of chow you feed your dragons.

I personally did it off of the base 200%. But, the longer you can wait before feeding your dragons the better.

Let me know if you need further clarification.
