An existential threat is growing within Heckfire. No, not Cedrics need to sun himself in the town square. Or the continued existence of Todd. Not even the return of Olga’s (in)famous “you’ll eat it and you’ll like it!” casserole. No, I speak of the explosion in the population of that most vile of fauna, Heckin’ Hydras! While Hydras have long plagued the lands of Heckfire, until recently they were merely a nuisance, eating the occasional village here and ruining a picnic there. But lately their numbers have been increasing exponentially, resulting in mass picnic based disruptions and the loss of at least two pretzel stands! While we’re not sure why, if they continue to multiply at the present rate rate Heckfire will be drowning in a sea of noodly nuisances by this time next month. Something has to be done! Fortunately, our crack team of hydra researchers have been hard at work locating a solution to this many headed menace, and have tracked down ancient scrolls detailing the locations of several of the Hydra’s most vicious natural predators. It’s time to trek out into the world (Don’t forget to bring a towel!) and make contact with these three mighty beasts! Introducing Reefus! Grab your floaties and practice your doggy paddle, it’s time to meet Reefus! When the coral reefs are threatened by the toxic presence of the realm’s invasive Hydras, Reefus is determined to help the reefs fight back! Emerging from the life giving water adorned in impenetrable armor to dispense destruction upon those who would threaten his ocean home, none are better prepared to make Hydras regret dipping a monstrous toe in the pristine(...Ish, cedric has been known to bathe in the ocean when a particularly large pigeon claims the local fountain) waters of Heckfire’s coasts. No one can say for sure what Reefus would look like under their coral armor (Are they scaly? Slimy? Adorned in heart patterned undies? We’ll never know!) but what we do know is that he feels no pain, only disappointment. Also rage. Sometimes melancholy. Push back the wave of noxious Hydras with the tidal fury of the ocean with Reefus! Yes, even the swamps. He is an equal opportunity water warrior. Crush raid monsters in any swamp based raid with your pal Reefus! Swift Raider - March speed bonus when attacking raids Much of Heckfire is connected by waterways. Knowing which ones go where is kind of a useful skill if you want to get somewhere in a hurry. If you ask Reefus nicely, he might show you the fastest way to your destination! Efficient Raider - Boost to raid brew efficiency Reefus knows just how to use the natural flow of waters to make any trek more efficient. Whether it is surfing upon a furious storm or finding the best lazy rivers to float down, marches including Reefus will be leisurely and relaxing, reducing raid brew costs in marches! Next up, introducing Polli! Slap on your rubber boots and head into the stagnant ponds that dot the grassland landscape, because it’s time to meet Polli. Most creatures would look at Polli and dismiss them out of hand. After all, how can a tadpole, no matter how big, pose a threat in a land as ridiculously violent as Heckfire? This is why most creatures do not see it coming when Polli devours them whole and rows of razor sharp teeth grind them into a nutritious slurry. But don’t worry, at least they won’t be lonely. Polli has no control over their hunger, and will continue eating at every available opportunity, filling their belly compulsively without so much as a thought of why. They’re not even hungry. They just want to consume. Endlessly consume. Until there is nothing left but Polli. We strongly recommend turning Polli loose on the endless feast that is the growing Vexed Hydra infestation of the realm as fast as possible, lest you become their next meal. Vexed Hydra Hunter - Vexed Hydra Raid Minion, Titan and Boss Attacker Bonus Vexed Hydras are full of all the essential nutrients that a growing eating machine like Polli craves, and as Polli consumes Hydras they only become more powerful. Grassland Raid Hunter - Grassland Raid Minion, Titan and Boss Attacker Bonus While vexed Hydras are Polli's preferred meal, sometimes you just want to snack on everything in sight. Troops travelling in marches with Polli are pretty motivated to get the march done so they can head back to your city and desperately try to forget what they have seen, and will move faster as a result! Efficient Raider - Boost to raid brew efficiency Polli is incredibly efficient at breaking down whatever they managed to shovel into their little toothy mouth. They also terrify the heck out of any soldiers in a march, and no one is going to complain too loudly if there's a bit of brew missing from their allotment if they think Polli might hear them. Raid marches are more efficient when Polli is around! And finally, introducing Snippysnap! Beach day is canceled folks, grab your sun hat and head into the badlands sun to chase down the mighty Snippysnap! . Tough shell, snappy pincers, fancy eyestalks, what’s not to love? But while many imitate Snippysnap (Through a process known as carcinization. 🎶Everybody, everybody, everybody wants to be a crab🎶) they are never duplicated. They also have a tendency of eating anyone who tries. Normally at home in the sand and surf, Snippysnap has moved further inland in search of richer prey. And no meat is quite as sweet to this crab Dragon as that of the Craggy Hydra. Sure, you need to peel it, and it’s roughly the texture of a car tire even when you do, but Snippysnap is well equipped for the job. With a powerful claw to tear their thick hide off in one go, as well as a digestive system best described as a nightmare of internal teeth and roiling acid, even the notoriously tough hydras are reduced to a mineral rich pudding in a matter of seconds.
