How It Works

You’ll be able to find the Shard Surprise Box in the Special Events area of the Limited section of the Store.



Use Avatar Shard Box Keys to open this box for a chance to receive Common, Rare and Epic Avatar Shards!




Collect enough shards and you’ll be able to trade them in for special unique avatars that grant you timed boosts!

Avatar timed boosts vary by realm. Boost types, values, and durations are balanced differently depending on whether you are on the Heckin' Dragons in My Dorm Realm (Realm 188) or other Realms to keep the economy balanced.

Common Avatars
Timed boosts inlclude:
PvE resource bonuses for Gold, Food, or Ore to 250% depending on the avatar!

BASE versions provide these boosts for 4 hours to 7 days, while VIP versions extend them to 24 hours to 14 days and add a matching progression boost: Research Speed, Troop Training Speed, or Building Speed to 50%.

Percentage boosts range from +100% to +400%, with durations from 3 days to 30 days for both BASE and VIP avatars.

VIP Timed Boost Boxes

To help you get the most out of your timed boosts, VIP avatars work a little differently.
When you purchase a VIP avatar, you’ll receive a Timeboost Key for that avatar’s assigned timed boosts. After purchasing the VIP avatar and receiving the key, a matching timed boost box will become available in the Avatar section of the Store.




You can then use the key to open that box and activate the boosts when you’re ready. This gives you more control over when your boosts begin, so you can make the most of their duration.

VIP timed boost boxes will be available until 2 PM Pacific Time on July 15, 2026, so make sure to use your keys before then!

A Note on Timed Boost Stacking
Timed boosts from different avatars may share similar labels, but they have been set up to make sure players receive the full value of the avatars they purchase.

Timed boosts granted directly by different avatars can stack where applicable, even if they have similar names. However, timed boosts activated from the same VIP timed boost box do not stack with themselves.

This is especially relevant for boosts such as:
Dragon XP
Resource bonuses
Ally bonuses
Chaos Element bonuses

No additional marches, other elements, or timer-based boosts were changed as part of this adjustment.

Avatar Shard Box Keys

You can earn Avatar Shard Box Keys from participating in various events in Heckfire including Eggspedition Unknown, Manyversal Madness (an upcoming event!) and the daily event: Brewin’ Keys.

Completing Brewin’ Keys will award 1 Avatar Shard Box Key, and players who place in the top 10 on eligible leaderboards can earn additional keys.

Shard Exchange Shop

Once you have purchased all avatars of a single rarity (Common, Rare, Epic), a Shard Exchange shop will become available for that rarity.

For example, if you purchase all Common avatars, you’ll unlock a shop where you can exchange leftover Common Avatar Shards for other items such as Resources and Dragon Stamps.

Dragon Stamps, 3 Hour Speedups, and Golden Chow all refresh Weekly, but the Shield pack is a one-time purchase.

You’ll need to purchase the base version of an avatar first. Once you own the base version, the VIP version will become available.

This is intentional! Avatar timed boosts may vary by realm. Boost types, values, and durations are balanced differently depending on where the event is running.

How do VIP timed boosts work?
When you purchase a VIP avatar, you’ll receive a Timeboost Key. A matching timed boost box will then appear in the Avatar section of the Store, allowing you to activate those boosts when you’re ready.

When do VIP timed boost boxes expire?
The latest time you can activate your VIP Timed Boosts is before 2 PM Pacific Time on July 15, 2026. You won't be able to activated your VIP timed boosts after this!

Do timed boosts stack?

What is the Shard Exchange Shop?
